Showa Kaisho is a brush script type that has a warmer and softer feel than conventional kaisho (block style) typefaces. The strokes of hiragana and katakana are heavier and more robust than those of kanji, and the design of hiragana has a classic touch similar to the Futo Mincho thick serif typefaces. Since Kaisho maintains a natural block style feel, it works well in settings where an elegant and yet casual appearance is needed.
