Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Gothic is a sans serif typeface suitable for headlines. As with Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Mincho, its sturdy structure is based on the Toppan Printing Company’s original types and their origin the Tsukiji type developed by the Tokyo Tsukiji Type Foundry in the Meiji period (1868–1912). Despite its robustness, the elements with rounded corners give the type a contemporary feel. With the combination of sharp-edged modern alphanumerics, it has achieved a perfect balance without being too classic. This is the typeface that has enough strength for headlines, yet giving a warm feel.
