Hiragino Sans Rounded is one of the standard typefaces in the Hiragino series developed after the Hiragino Serif and Hiragino Sans types. Drawing on the design of Hiragino Sans, various elements have been modified (such as removing geta, vertical strokes extending through horizontal strokes at the bottom of kanji) in order to create plain and simple letterforms characteristic of rounded sans. The design of kana leaves traces of soft brush strokes that follow the movement of the hand, making the letter shapes friendly and endearing.
