“HY CuSongTi” is a Mincho style simplified Chinese typeface designed by HANYI in response to the market’s need for headline typefaces. The lateral strokes are horizontal, the vertical strokes perpendicular, the tear drops robust, and the tapered strokes strong and beautiful. The lines that make up the letters and the blank areas are balanced to create a typeface that is classy and imposing. “HY CuSongTi” can be used in a variety of applications such as headlines in magazines, books and newspapers, and is especially well suited for signage, displays, ads, and OOH (out-of-home or exterior) advertisements where impact and appeal are desired. Among the Morisawa typefaces, “Shuei Shogo Mincho,” “Kocho,” and “Reimin” similarly combine bold vertical strokes with fine lateral strokes, but “Reimin Y10 EH” is the only typeface with similarly weighted vertical strokes.
