“AR Hei” is a Gothic style traditional Chinese typeface made by ARPHIC with wide counters, uniform line width, and simple strokes and Harai (tapered strokes). The typeface comes in two weights, B (AR Heiti Bold B5) and H (AR Heiti Heavy B5). Both weights are characterized by a calm and strong yet peaceful expression, which is closest in feel to “Shin Go” among the Morisawa typefaces. “AR Hei H” is designed to be easier to focus on visually, based on the design concept of “AR Hei B,” so it is highly suitable for use in displays, digital and other types of signage, and OOH (Out-of-home or exterior) advertising.
