“Midashigo MB31” is a traditional, poised headline Gothic typeface. It is an easy-to-use, orthodox design with a calligraphic accent at the starting point of the strokes, with moderate blackness, and a contrast between Kanji and Kana characters that naturally draws one’s gaze. Given the small structure of the characters compared with other Gothic typefaces, it is not obtrusive even at large sizes, and if used for headlines in advertising or magazines or longer taglines, it is a typeface that calmly expresses the meaning of the words.
