"UD Reimin" is a Universal Design typeface designed to be easy to use by adding solid weight to the thin horizontal lines which are the signature of Ming-cho typeface. The Kana has a contemporary design, with larger counters and only a slight difference between the widths of characters. As a result, it is beautifully aligned in both vertical and horizontal typesetting, and the simple character shape of letters of the alphabet and numerals make them difficult to misread.
