Features of UD Shin Go Condensed 80
Condensed typefaces are used where a lot of information needs to be placed in limited space, while maintaining visibility and readability. In addition to placing large amounts of information, such as for food product ingredient information and packaging instructions, leaflets, bellybands (strips of paper looped around publications), web banners, etc, you can take advantage of their high design value when you want to add an accent to a page from headlines and taglines to body text. “UD Shin Go Condensed” is a Condensed (narrow) typeface based on UD Shin Go. It solves the problem of line distortions resulting from horizontal scaling. The weights of the vertical and horizontal strokes and the skeletal balance are optimized, to effectively display more information even in limited space. The degree of narrowness comes in five gradations, 90%, 80%, 70%, 60% and 50%, and there are eight weight variations from EL to U.
