The web font service TypeSquare will release new fonts on December 17th 2020. In addition to the new released fonts, in total of 132 fonts will be available on TypeSquare including fonts from Jiyukobo and Showa Shotai.

New additional typefaces are:

A heart-warming Japanese typeface with a nuance of letterpress; a friendly typeface reminiscent of the handwriting of felt-tip pen; a serif Latin typeface which covers Cyrillic, Greek and Vietnamese characters designed as a Latin counterpart of the UD Reimin series. The lineup expands the range of expressions of multilingual design as well as Japanese. In addition, an AP version (equipped with pair kerning) which enhances the use of our famous typefaces will be added.

46 typefaces from Jiyukobo, such as “Yu Mincho” and “Yu Gothic” have been added to enrich the library of standard typefaces. These typefaces perform well in typesetting of book. Lastly but not least, 5 typefaces from Showa Shotai, such as “Showa Kaisho” and “Touryu” will be added. The strokes of these typefaces have the dynamic blurriness of handwritten lines. Typefaces designed under the concept of “eye and mind-catching letters” have the letterforms to convey a strong image to the readers.
