New Additions to TypeSquare’s Lineup: A1 Gothic, Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Mincho EB, Shuei KakuGo Kin M, Shuei KakuGo Gin M
Web font service TypeSquare will release four new fonts: A1 Gothic, Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Mincho EB, Shuei KakuGo Kin M, Shuei KakuGo Gin M. A1 Gothic is an old-style Gothic font created by referring back to the original skeleton of A1 Mincho. The expression of sumi-damari (literally, ink blots) at stroke crossings and a slight rounding of elements give warmth to the font design. Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Mincho EB is a Mincho-style heading font with lively brush strokes, whose design is based on the backbones of the conventional Toppan fonts as well as the Tsukiji font, the source of Toppan fonts. Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Mincho EB creates a solid presence on websites, befitting a heading font. In addition to the weights already offered, a new “M” weight is now available for Shuei KakuGo Kin and Shuei KakuGo Gin.
